Work History:
Deborah has worked in the addictions field for approximately 12 years. During this time she managed an alcohol and drug residential programme and was a senior psychologist for the Methadone Services and Parenting Team for Waitemata Health in Auckland. Over the last 9 years, Deborah has worked as a psychologist and senior psychologist for the Department of Corrections and been involved in assessment, treatment, report writing, supervision, and group therapy. Recently Deborah worked for Employee Assisted Programme Services in Christchurch providing brief individual treatment for clients of the service and onsite support.
Experience:
Deborah has a range of experience spanning 15 years of practice as a registered psychologist. She has a passion for those wanting to make a change and attempting to confront difficult life issues. Deborah operates primarily from a cognitive-behavioural model of practice but supplements this with other treatment modalities when necessary. She has a range of skills and strategies that she is keen to share with individuals who are in need and want to change.
